Donors & Partners

The ICRISAT Centre of Excellence for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture (ISSCA) is anchored in strong partnerships with leading institutions committed to advancing agricultural innovation and sustainable development across the Global South.

Initial partners of the initiative include:

  • DAKSHIN at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), an autonomous policy research institution under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
  • Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India
  • Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
  • International Rice Research Institute (IRRI)
  • International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA)
  • Gates Foundation

These first phase partners bring complementary expertise, strategic reach, and long-standing commitment to agricultural transformation in developing regions.

As the initiative evolves and scales, ISSCA will continue to expand its network, adding and welcoming additional partners from governments, research institutions, development agencies, and the private sector.

This section will be regularly updated to reflect the growing coalition driving this shared vision of inclusive and resilient agri-food systems.

As part of the CGIAR network, ISSCA is well-positioned to engage with all CGIAR Research Centers, leveraging a global portfolio of agricultural expertise, innovations, and partnerships to accelerate impact across the Global South.
